We’re delighted to share the programme for the 2015 Ardee Baroque Festival. It’s wonderful that in our twelfth year, the founder ensemble, the Irish Baroque Orchestra is still at the centre of the Festival. Other returning ensembles include Musici Ireland and the ever-popular Kids’ Classics. This year, musician Aideen Morrissey will give a talk on Music at the time of the Battle of the Boyne and we’ll have a recital by three of Ireland’s finest interpr eters of Baroque music, Malcolm Proud, Roisin O’Grady and Aoife NicAthlaoich.
New to this Festival is an association with internationally acclaimed and Ardee-born painter, Pádraig Lynch. An exhibition of Pádraig’s work titled “At 75” will take place in Ardee Library including readings by poet and writer Noel Monaghan as well as a painting demonstration with Pádraig.
We are committed to keeping ticket prices affordable, with many events Free and others having both concession and children’s rates. To help create a festival mood and encourage people to explore and experience as much as possible over the weekend, we are offering a Festival ticket for just €35. Many restaurants will be offering Early Bird meals to enable you to fit everything in.
We hope that whether you’re a novice or an expert, young or old that you’ll find something to enjoy at this year’s Ardee Baroque Festival.
The Festival is generously funded by Louth County Council, Create Louth and the Arts Council.
